First professional mer gig!

my first ever mermaid gig on the 10th of september, and i feel super unprepared! My mertender wont be home until october, so i have my mom who is willing to help me in any way that i need. She cant carry me, so i was thinking about getting a wagon and she can pull me to the pool and i can hop out or something. Haven't figured that part out yet. Anyways, i have a whole bunch of questions. Should I accept the payment before the party or afterwards? I can only accept cash and check, am i going to need a reciept to give my client after they pay me? The gig is a company pool party, so there will be adults and children there, what kind of things should i do to entertain everyone? Most of the event will be in the pool. I will take any advice i can get!

Contact chase bank, you can get a "square" for free, it allows you to accept credit cards! I don't think you even need an account through them! Also consider accepting PayPal! You could try to get to the pool before the guests and put your tail on then?

Ohhh paypal is smart! How do i set one up? Do i need a website?? And ive been talking to the client and we got the the changing into tail part figured out!

You don't need a website, just an email. All you need is a checking account and an email. Super easy to use
On rare occasions I accept cash/check (usually from larger companies who don't use PayPal)
I recommend payment BEFORE the event. Even if it's when you arrive. Learned that lesson the hard way. Some people will try and argue price or flat out not pay the agreed amount.
