Hey guys!

I was wondering what your thoughts were regarding the differences between the the Rapid and the Wave. What do you think that the pros and cons are of each?

I recently purchased a Wave and I realized that it was WAY thinner than I had imagined it to be. A few of my friends have the Rapid and they don't seem to have the problem of fearing it will snap while they are swimming.

I was also wondering what your thoughts were regarding customizing the flukes on either. I've seen many methods for the Rapid, but with how thin the Wave is, do you think that they would still work?

Basically I'm trying to determine all of the pros and cons of both so as to figure out better methods of customization that are unique to each fin?

(tl;dr Help I'm new and I'm afraid my fin is too thin D: )

The only difference I know of is foot size

They should be the same. I have a wave and it has bent in all kinds of directions and still comes back to normal so I wouldn't worry about breakage. The rapid should just be bigger since its meant for bigger feet.

The rapid fin itself is actually inches larger. If you search through the threads you can find a comparison photo, I think it comes up in a Google image search as well.

My worry is that since the size is smaller, the plastic is also noticeably thinner and I feel like drilling holes through it to build extensions would weaken it too much?

I did that to my wave and it wasn't a problem actually

Here you can see my blue Wave on top of my black Rapid (the pink one is a Mermaid, all 3 monofins are from Finis)
