How much paint?

How much paint am I going to need, approximately? I'm rather short (5'4') so keep that in mind. I really have no concept of how far an ounce will go, how much coverage I can get.

I'm painting a whole tail. For my last tails, I sort of combined the paint that I already had so I have no idea how much it was.

^ A latex tail? neoprin(prene)? Silicone? Fabric?

It's latex, but the amount of paint for each type shouldn't vary that much.
