Ok sorry if this question has already been answered but I search the forum and couldn't find any good answers.
I have a basic silicone tail from Mertailer, with the neoprene lining. The problem I have is once I start swimming in it, the back part starts to slip and shows my top of my bikini bottoms. I try pulling it back up, but that doesn't look too good for a show. Does anyone have suggestions? Maybe my tail is too big? I have lost weight. Just a little lost as to what to do.

You could just use a belt like a belly dancing hip scarf, it's usually what most mer use http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160903/d451cf56c9ee5400135ee9b9da45c7b4.jpg
Or since it has a neoprene lining you could get some nylon webbing and sew that into the inside of your tail with a buckle so you can undo the belt when removing or putting on the tail. My sequin tail I'm making is going to have this.

That's a good idea, I hadn't thought of the nylon webbing. Thank you :)

Heads up with the belly dance scarves--those coins are NOT waterproof. They will start to fall apart after a few hours. You can coat each coin with clear nail polish to prevent that from happening. Or just let them degrade if you don't care :p
I use strips of fishnet as a belt. I have a terrible waist gap on my tail that is visible when I swim. I also sometimes use a fashion scarf (you can find them at Target or Macy's). Chlorine and salt water will eventually bleach any fabric, but the scarves have held up well.

Fishnet only (there are 3-4 strips tied around my waist)

This is a terrible photo, but you can see the pink scarf I use kinda covering my bum.

I suggested on another thread that if you like belly dance scarves use the ones that have glass beads instead of coins. Those won't rust or cut the thread that holds them together.

@KateyMermaid Good call! I really like how the fishnet looks as well! Looks natural!
Because I have super high waistlines on my tails as well as either elastic, or overlapping waistbands I haven't encountered this in a while. My first painted tail had a huge tail gap though after I lost a bunch of weight. Super frustrating.
Good luck and I hope you find a method that works for you!
