Hi All!
I'm wondering if anyone has tips on keeping your hair from getting so tangled around accessories while performing underwater? I have given up completely on wearing any kind of necklace or earrings while swimming. I love my seaweed hair clip, but I'm sick of having to wrestle with it afterwards! I've tried conditioner or even lubricant and that helps get it out, but I wonder if there's a better fake seaweed that I don't know about or treatment you can put on the plastic leaves to make them less sticky? I've attached a photo with the foliage I currently use.

Thanks for the input!

I am interested in hearing what everyone's solution to that problem is as well...

The night before I go mermaiding I use more hair conditioner than I normally use so that my hair will be less likely to tangle. I haven't made a waterproof hair clip or crown yet so I have yet to see how my hair does with that underwater. So far with short necklaces and my fake plant covered top my long hair surprisingly has not gotten tangled up in that stuff and I was diving down and swimming around, etc.

I haven't had that exact trouble so I'm not sure but I actually make my clips and hair pieces with fabric aquarium plants. This means they a way less likely to get tangled than fabric? Maybe you could try that.
Where I live it's actually the only type of plants I could find for awhile but they do really well because they're made to be in water.

I bought a starfish with seaweed hair clip from CoyoteWalker's etsy. I figured out that if I tie a portion of my hair back with a hairband, and then pin that portion of hair to the rest of my hair, the hair clip stays in perfectly, and the seaweed doesn't get caught in my hair. Also, I learned to use Argon Oil on my hair right after swimming from Mermaid Gem.
