View Full Version : How the heck do you wear nose clips?

I was hoping maybe someone here could help me. I just picked up an earplug/nose clip set from Target because I thought it might help me keep my head under the water for longer. The ear plugs fit just fine, but no matter how I try to insert the nose clip, it just looks ridiculously wrong or won't stay in! The set looks just like this, but in pink (since it would blend in more with my skin and be less obvious): http://www.speedousa.com/profile-nose-clipear-plug-set/style-7530356

I tried sticking it right in my nose, but that makes the rounded part hang way down past my lip like a cowbell, and it definitely won't stay in place for very long. I feel like there should be some way to get the rounded part up over the bridge of my nose to make it more secure, but I can't for the life of me figure out how. Is it even supposed to go in my nose, or is it just supposed to clip it from the outside like a clothespin? I saw Raina's video about the Sinusaver, and I might look into that too, but this was the closest thing I was able to find at Target today, so I figured I'd grab it since it was cheap.

That kind usually clips to the outside of the nose like a clothes pin, yes. Just clamps the nostrils shut. Some fit better than others.

I think the Sinus Saver is the only noseplug that actually inserts into your nose?

Thanks! I wish it didn't have to look so silly. >_< At least I got the pink one, so it's slightly less noticeable. I was hoping they would have a clear one since all of them were already kind of transparent, but they didn't. The sinus saver seems kind of overpriced for such a small piece of plastic.

I buy clear ones online :) still look a little sily but less noticeable.

It seems like all the clear ones on Amazon have an opaque stamp with the company logo on the "clip" part (like Speedo or Finis), so they're not completely clear.
