Hi everyone!

I'm Asvel, and currently located in New Zealand. No shortage of pretty beaches, and pretty everything in general, including people. I'm more than enough to drag the average up, all by my lonesome. Heh.

I've wanted a mermaid tail for as long as I've known such things existed, and when I found this site I took the plunge and got myself a fabric tail. It should be arriving in the next few days. Semi-professional mermaiding is The Dream: I might not ever make enough to make it a living, but that's okay, I get to entertain people, spread ideas and awareness, and have fun in the water. Good enough for me. The rest, I'll just stick to my day job in engineering. The other dream is to find a local community, but it seems like there aren't many of us here...(yet)

Aside from mermaiding, I scuba dive, free dive, play underwater hockey...also other land-based hobbies, which my mer-persona can't get enough of because ooh shiny and new. Go figure, right?

You play underwater hockey? Nice! I used to play in Atlanta a couple years ago but I stopped when I moved. Do you currently play with a team?

Atlanta??! I played with the Swordfish (Georgia Tech team) when I was there briefly in 2012 - would I have known you? And no, I'm more or less affiliated with Phoenix now, but that's a club not a team. I just hop into scratch games when I can make it, which is less often than I'd like.

Holy shit, yeah! I played with the Swordfish! I left Atlanta in August 2012, although I think I left the team before that cause I was busy. That's so cool. We might have met before.
