So my theme is antarctic in origin, and while discussing an old topic of my merman top with a friend (who I just introduced to our watery world) I got to thinking...

What kind of accessories might be suitable for a cold-water merman?

I'm a little puzzled, and I love crafting, so I'd like to get to work on something I could have that would be mersona appropriate. I'd love to hear if any of you have any thoughts that pop into your mind!

I'd think I would be better at this, as I am a Frozen fan, and eventually want a good quality tail that incorporates the colors of Elsa's ice palace. But the only ideas I have had:

Jewelry that looks like its made from ice, or captures that wonderful glacial-blue color. You cannot properly get that color from a digital camera, or show it on a computer screen as both of those do not cover the entire spectrum visible to the human eye.

A merman may want camouflage, such as a top that is mostly white.

Silver colored armor comes to mind. You could incorporate some netting as well - like making a shirt out of netting or arm wraps.

To add to what Merman Storm said as far as jewelry that looks like ice - you could get jewelry made of white crystals or made of dichroic glass.

You could make your own necklace with white crystals (I am thinking having several white crystals in a row on the necklace) then in the center of the necklace you could have the end of a deer antler tine to mimic the look of an aquatic mammal's tooth. Deer shed their antlers naturally and there are people who raise deer or go out looking for shed antlers so you could easily get some antler that was obtained without harming the deer.

Maybe something that looks like a seal skin? A faux seal skin cape and/or belt and gloves?

There is so much to play with here,

As for jewelry or accessories,
Maybe a warrior vest of Faux seal skin would work (harp seals, ringed seals, or Polar bear 'fur' as wel)l, you can also have penguin patterned accessories (if you're from the antarctic) how about whales, you got colors of belugas, and Narwhals bowhead whales as well, maybe a Narwhal tusk could be a weapon for defending yourself. You can adorn yourself in "teeth" from various animals orcas, polar bears or even a small tusk from a walrus as a necklace or use as a weapon of a sort like a dagger. I mean there are so many ideas to go on.

Colors like glacier colors can vary for sure but i personally love this color:

Ooooh, very cool ideas, friends! I'm particularly liking the idea of the stones/ice for adornments and such. I have a lot of thoughts kind of mixing around right now that sound fun. I'll maybe sketch some out and see what might work!

And I never really thought about the animal hide concept either. Perhaps using that as a sort of vest or wrap instead of the more normal looking 'salvaged' vest I was originally thinking of could be a better option! Now I'm thinking about ways to design THAT too. :D

You could make a torn up and shredded seal gut parka, like you took it from the sinking of a Inuit canoe.
