Anyone else care to share mermaid dreams they'd had? I've have a few really interesting ones!
*A while ago I dreamed I was a young mermaid(who cannot transform into human form H2O-style) being raised on land by an "adoptive" mother. The back story was something about my "mother" finding a mermaid egg on the beach during a vacation thinking it was a pretty rock or something, when it turned into a merbaby, the woman fell so in love with the merchild that she decided to raise it herself, despite this being obviously problematic. I lived in a nice indoor pool and occasionally went out in a wheelchair with a blanket covering my tail, but yearned to not spend so much time cooped up in the house.
*The next one was set in a vaguely medieval fairy tale world. I was in an arranged engagement that I wanted out of, and while hanging out on the beach was granted the ability to turn into a mermaid as a reward for my efforts to support ocean conservation by real mermaids.
*I a few weeks ago I dreamed I was mer-swimming, more like just floating around, in a pool with my BFF Lisa aka ForsakenMermaid.
*Last night I had a pretty, well,..."interesting" one. I was a mermaid in a mer-society that pretty much revolved about these pearls that merfolk "produced": apparently in this world all merfolk's bodily functions(tears, feces, menstruation/egg-laying) were in the form of these pretty little pearls that were used for so many different purposes, so they were extremely important to the ecosystem: some sea creatures used them for food, and mers used them to make buildings, clothing/accessories, tools, you name it. It was like the purpose of a mer was too produce these oh-so-important pearls, and there was a kind of social hierchy based on how many pearls one produces, with producing a lot of pearls being a sign you were "blessed by Poseidon", and mers looked down on humans for having messy, gross body functions instead of making pearls.
