So I am not quite sure how it happened but the second time that I took out my spandex tail out, after I washed it, bleached out spots appeared on the metallic scales. It could have been a number of reasons but I was wondering if you guys had any ideas on how I could repair it, or possibly if I just need to remake the tail

A picture may help, but if it is spandex my first thought is sharpie marker colored as close as you can to the fabric color or fabric paint/dye as close to the color as possible. If it is a color shifting spandex then sadly I do not know what would be best. Are the spots on the fin part or the body of the tail?

Sharpie's not a bad idea, will it stay in poolwater?

This is caused by the metalic foil on your fabric rubbing off, and unfortunately there is nothing you can really do to repair it once it happens (aside from colouring in the scales as others have suggested). It will keep happening as it is just what these types of fabric do in the water, the only thing you can really do is try to minimise any rubbing and make sure you carefully hand wash it each time with wool wash (or other Lycra friendly washing liquid), and when you are drying it make sure you turn it right way out so the foil doesnt dry on itself (which seems to cause more fading of the foil).

There are spots on the bottom of the footpocket that are worn, this is more like the color seeped out... also the color in the whole thing is lightened in general. Is good that the sharpie is seconded as a good fix
