Pictures Wanted for MerNetwork promos!

MerYuku is now in the process of moving over to the new site here at MerNetwork.com. We're just getting things rolling- archiving posts, getting current MerYuku users re registered, figuring out functionality of the new software, ect. This brings to mind that to get the word out we need promotional ads!

For promotional ads for the new site, I want to stick to merfolk costuming pictures (rather than use artwork or image manipulations)- and what better pictures than of the users themselves and people swimming in merfolk tails? I would like to obtain permission for any media used in the promotional video(s). To make this a bit easier, I thought I'd try posts before individual messages. If you agree to let MerNetwork use your pictures and/or videos for said promotional ads, please post a comment saying, "I give permission" or a similar statement giving us permission to use your media. If you don't have many pictures uploaded here yet, you can post link your facebook, youtube, photobucket, or any other sites in a comment.

I would LOVE to be able to use those images, but the reason the last video promo was removed was because of a copyright claim from "Annette Batista Photography", and it seems your images are from her.

Does anyone know if the rights of the photographer or model subject is stronger in copyright than the other?

Generally both have to give permission. However, as most models sign a release form, Annette Batista probably has the stronger claim.

Yes....Annette did send the copyright claim against the first video, HOWEVER.....it was only on Eric's behalf when they were close. She's one of my best friends and she is OK with it now since everything has come into light. She is afraid that many people think of her as the "bad guy" or "Eric's photographer". She wanted me to make it perfectly clear that she is not his photographer anymore. He never paid her for a single picture anyway. She would be more than happy to lend her work to the mermaid community and if you would like her direct permission you can email her at abday92@gmail.com . :)
