So life has been pretty stressful lately. Started a new job that has been insanely busy due to the holidays, dealing with college stuff (when am I gonna graduate, essays, concerts), and finals on top of all of it. It had gotten so bad that I cried a bunch this past weekend. I had people around me at work to help, so I got through it, but I just needed a break.

So yesterday I posted on my instagram @angelofhyrule that I was feeling this way, not throwing a pity-party, but just saying I needed a break, to which my best friend was like let's go to the beach. And I'm like, sure we can go over break. And she goes, no, let's go tomorrow!

So we left campus around 3 pm (I had my last flute lesson of the quarter at 1:45), brought snacks and sandals, and went to Newport Beach. Literally no one else was there and we just basically stood in the sand and let some waves crash on our ankles (the sea was pretty chill tonight XD) for like 50 min. It was so magical!

Overall we were just happy that we like.....did it. Both of us are the type of people who would plan something a month in advance with every little detail and conflicts and yada yada yada. But to just go to the ocean and.....be free for the night? Truly amazing.

Not sure what the point of sharing this is XD I guess.....don't be afraid to go do something to make you happy. Go do that thing you always wanted to do, and always complain about not doing enough. For me, it's hitting the beach. I mean, jeeze, I live in California, you think I'd be at the beach all the time! Yeah its an hour drive, but still!

So, um, I guess share below your favorite time at the beach? I dunno. :mermaid kiss:

I'm not the biggest fan of the beach. But I guess my favorite time was when I played volley ball there once. It was pretty fun and the sand added a bit of a challenge to it.
As for hanging out with my friend, we usually plan a week in advance to hang out, but never plan on what we're actually gonna do. We usually just go hang at a coffee shop or walk around down town. Then come home and play some video games. Living the thug life B)

I love doing this. I wish I could do it more often. I'm am also wrapping up finals for school and the stress is freaking relentless.
Recently my boyfriend and I stayed in Tofino, BC for our anniversary. The place we stayed was right on the ocean and the view was SPECTACULAR. The entire experience was truly magical, although not very spontaneous as we had planned it a month ahead of time.
I want to make a trip down to California maybe in the spring sometime. Could be a load of fun if there were others to meet up with! 😀

I actually mostly use my tail at night. I'm not one that loves the attention (plus the weird gaze people give when they see a merman) but it's true: "The night at a beach is truly an experience".

Been feeling better just woke up with a sore throat and a general feeling of "ick". I took a shower and ate food so I' m feeling better already <3

For real though I looove the beach at night <3 Like I don't go to the beach to play in the water, I go to stand by the little waves and find seashells and smell the air and hear the sounds :D

Also I would totally fangirl if I saw a mer at the beach XD
