Hey everyone! So I'm kinda new to the whole mermaiding universe, and haven't succeeded in making a fully functional tail yet, but I'm planning on buying a basic silicone tail from Mertailor. However, I REALLY want to have the long "tassel" things that some tails have off of the tips of the fluke. I think they add a lot of the "fishiness" of a tail. I asked mertailor if it's possible for them to add this on and the answer was no.

I'm wondering if anyone has tips on how to do this myself? I bought a bunch of silicone materials recently to attempt at making my own tail (I love art of all types so I figured i could give it a shot), and figured those would probably work especially since if it's just the tips i wont have to worry about extremely skin safe.

Any ideas?

buy from a tailmaker whose fluke shape you like better. check out mernation, they have some affordable options

I personally wouldn't even recommend getting a tail from mertailor. I would recommend buying one from Mernation or Finfolk. I'm sure they have something that would suit your style. Plus, you could run into some severe issues trying to bond fresh silicone to already cured silicone of a different batch. Not only that, but you'd have to find a way to blend the colors to look decent. It would be easier to either make your own full tail or buy from a different tailmaker.

Thanks! :) I am on quite a budget, so I'm definitely glad to have any affordable options for silicone tails on my radar. I've heard mixed reviews about Mertailor basics, so I was hesitant anyways.

Oops, I just responded to like both in one thing. I'm still confused a little by this site.
