I will soon be a Fin Fun Mermaid!

I've been corresponding via email, on and off, with Karen, who makes Fin Fun Mermaid Tails, and she says within a week she'll get in a purple/silver spandex fabric as per my request for a shiny or scale-patterned purple fabric, so it shouldn't be long now before I officially order my tail! When I get it, I definitely will post pictures on my Facebook page and possibly here. I already have some mer-accessories: a cheap plastic silver-tone tiara with fake pearls and rhinestones I got at Party City, a purple fabric lei also from Party City, a flesh-tone top to wear under my accessories(I'm a probably the most modest mermaid on Earth, hehe), and best/most realistic of all, some real shell jewelry my mom bought on a trip to Maui, Hawaii.
Now, I know Fin Fun is a low-end tailmaker, but I'm just an amateur cosplayer/hobbyist doing this for fun, so I really don't think I have a need for a realistic latex, neoprene, or silicone tail, and I'm not much of a swimmer, so this is strictly for dry cosplaying, so I don't need a monofin either.

I've always felt like a mermaid deep down into the depths of my Gothic soul of feeling loneliness and a bunch of other boxes of junk lol.
But i think when i get my tail and i have my first swim i will say it out loud for the first time..that i am a real mermaid.

I think one of the first pics I'll take when I get my tail is of me in it, sitting in front of my doll cabinets. I'm so proud of my "girls", the majority of which I "rescued" from thrift stores and doll shows, that I'd love to show them off along with my tail!

Go for it! I can't wait to see your new tail and I think it's a great idea to take the pics in front of your dolls. I'm glad you keep them in cabinets and things, I had a friend once who had so many beautiful dolls but kept them in boxes in her closet :( no one ever got to see or appreciate them.

@Mermaid Sirena, glad you like my idea! My collection is mainly Barbie-type fashion dolls who luckily are small enough that they don't take up much space so literally hundreds can sometimes fit in a cabinet.

Update: She's gotten in some outrageous new fabrics, but not mine yet, but she assures me it'll be in soon, and I can tell by her reviews that Karen is 100% trustworthy, unlike certain other tailmakers who shall remain nameless!

She now says the fabric is in, but it's not up on eBay just yet!
