i know a lot of people use finis brand monofins, like the competitor or the wave, but ive been thinking about buying a monofin from here:
http://specialfins.com/
the site names its prices in euros, but the first monofin (the one i would get) is about $150 in USD. they are made of fiberglass, which is the same as the competitor monofin from finis, but at about half the price. they also come in different thicknesses (hardnesses), which is nice. i would probably go with medium, as ive heard their blades run a bit soft. i dont want anything TOO flimsy, you know?
i looked around to see if i could find any reviews or things on the specialfins, but as i am relatively new to this site (haha, relatively. i just joined today.), im not quite 100% sure on exactly how to navigate it just yet.
so, if anyone has anything to say about specialfins, let me know. if you have had a product from them, would you recommend it? was it better or worse than finis brands (if youve tried both)?
and the footpockets, were they comfortable? thats my main thing.
thanks so much for any feedback you can give me :D

I have no personal experience but I think I've seen video of professional divers using them, not sure though.

Hey there Brianna,

Since you're new here, you might wanna check out an article with lots of tips for selecting a monofin on my new blog: www.finswimmingbay.com (http://www.finswimmingbay.com/) (http://www.finswimmingbay.com/2012/02/29/monofin-guide (http://www.finswimmingbay.com/2012/02/29/monofin-guide)).

I've posted an excerpt of a comment of a driver on the deeperblue.com forum for you here:

The Specialfins website, www.specialfins.com (http://www.specialfins.com/) is replete with product descriptions and information sure to make the technical types happy, the spearo’s mouth water and the casual diver reach for the phone. Contact them and don’t be surprised at the high level of service you are afforded. The service is equal to the performance of the fins- first rate
(source: http://www.deeperblue.com/2004/01/25/plastic-vs-fiber-fins-another-view/)

So I propose that you contact (info@specialfins.com) the people specialfins and ask them all your questions. Or you can search some forums on finswimming or freediving.

Enjoy!
