Hello, all! I've been enthusiastic for years about the idea of mermaiding, ever since making friends with a professional mermaid in another state. The more I hear about it, the more I like the idea, but I've never actually taken any steps towards it due to hesitation thanks to my body type (I know, I know) and health issues. We're finally making some progress with my health, so I'm wanting to start moving forward. I'd be open to professional mermaiding someday presuming I do well, but for the time being it's likely hobby only. I'm a singer and an actress, so developing a character and expanding on it would be oodles of fun.

Long story short, aspiring mermaid from Oklahoma here, with some confusion about where to start! Nice to meet you!

Welcome to the mernetwork. Best way to start is with a fabric tail :) Believe me on that one. You are also in the same state as Mermaid Mazu who makes excellent hybrid tails.

Welcome and I hope you enjoy your mermaiding journey :)

And I second the fabric tail first ^^ Or at least a monofin.

Any ideas on your dream tail? ;)

That's what I've been told. [emoji4]Now I just need to find one that comes big enough for me.

I think I'd like to do a betta fish inspired tail in blue and silver!
