I am very interested in becoming a professional mermaid. But I don't just want to stop there. One of my dreams is to start and run an entertainment business. I am also a fursuiter and a cosplayer and I have a pair of fawn legs that I want to develop into a satyr costume. I want to be able to do all sorts of parties and events as original characters (like my mermaid, my fawn, my fursonas) as well as well known characters (I am getting a fursuit of Sven the reindeer) and to include some of my friends that cosplay (Ursula, Merida). I have a university degree that wont help me much but I am hoping to take some business courses at my community college next semester. I also have AniaR's "How to be a mermaid" book although the file I received when I purchased it from the 3rd party won't download so I haven't read it.

I have a shitty fabric tail I made that just doesn't work well because of the fluke design I chose. But I am practicing with my monofin a lot and I have started saving up for a silicone tail. When I move in a few months, I will be finding a house or apartment with a pool so I can swim daily. But I was hoping some of the professional mers around her could share some personal experience from when they started. Or give me any tips or ideas for starting up. I am in Arizona, if that makes a difference; I think we have a few pro-mers but I haven't met any myself.
