I've seen that some people have had a bit of luck with the scuba doubleknit fabric for using in tails, but I was wondering if anyone's had some experience with using some of the swimwear/scuba knit from Wal-Mart like the ones here (https://www.walmart.com/search/?query=swimwear%20fabric)or here (https://www.walmart.com/search/?grid=true&query=scuba+knit+fabric#searchProductResult)? Or should I not use scuba knit at all?

I mean, as long as it doesn't have any cotton, I'm sure it would be fine. My first fabric tail (made 6 years ago) is fabric from walmart and it's still alive. :V

This is actually reassuring to me. If you can find the right fabric in a Walmart in Vermont; all the other Walmarts here in Florida should most definitely have it. I don't think anyone realize that almost all the Walmart in Vermont except for the one in Bennington now are just tiny non supercenter. Where in VT are you if I may ask? I used to live in Bennington and that rec center is tail friendly when I last called a couple months ago.

Slim, I live in Chelsea, VT right now. It's a town away from Barre, down 110. :) There's a new aquatic center (Upper Valley Aquatic Center) in White River Jct. that's tail friendly in their big sports pool. Also, they've put a new Wally world super center in Woodsville NH so we have access to one. But that's really the closest one to central VT.

Also, tip for looking at fabric in walmart; tell them you're looking for swim fabric or dance fabric! also, no cotton! :V cotton is bad for pool wear, I made that mistake and my second tail fell apart pretty fast

@Tolgarr: That's amazing, and very helpful considering the amount of JoAnn stores compared to Wal-Mart stores! Thanks, you have no idea how much of a blessing that is!
@Slim: Don't get discouraged if you can't find it in the store. I think you can have the fabric shipped directly to your house if not the store itself. The problem that I've had with Wal-Mart is that you can't just order a swatch, you have to get a yard as a sample. At least, that's been the experience that I've had in going to the ones closer to me.
