i'm trying to make a some what neutral top as I don't know what color tail I will have in the future, currently I have a teal fabric tail.

So far I have got 2 pairs of abalone shell...... though I think I might sell the other set, I didn't realize that they are too small for me. Which is so sad because they are a lovely opal and pink swirl =( The pair that does fit, I thought it would great because it's half polished but then I realized that it was a bad idea... because the unpolished part is wayyyy too blocky and SOOOO I'm opting to glue pearls and swarovski crystals on it. Here is a picture that I have photoshopped on my phone to envision my idea.

After figuring out what I wanted, there was the business of what type of bra base do I want?! what does everybody use?! It was choice of balconette bra or the push up ? I opted for the balconette style since the middle has more fabric vs the push up which has a string. Just in case I need a base to decorate... I hope its the right choice...

I have finally caught up to where I am now. I am at a irritating spot because I wouldn't have this problem if I had dyed the fishnet all in one go but at last i do not have a big enough vessel to dye everything all at once. As you can see here, the left side is darker then the right....and in the centre there is a sample of the greenery I will be using...I can't decide... I like the lighter green but I don't want to create the feeling like its plasticy fruit bag feel... the other one is nice and i like it but but ....

I like your ideas of where to put the pearls

Killer ideas! I love the placement of the pearls too. It is really striking with the olive green tones of the shells.
Remember that in nature, nothing is one block colour, so it doesn't reeeeeally matter if your fishing net isn't the exact same shade! I actually think it adds more depth and character to your top :)
I can't wait to see how this goes! :)

thank you! you're encouragment really helps me =)

I have a small progress update!
I'm still in the process of sewing down the net to the bra, I have not got around to the "seaweed"

the rhinestones just came so I have been using
white pearls, AB white pearls, opal crystals, random tiny seashells

I am done!! just tried it on today, and added some more glue for just in case =) pretty happy with it but I do wish I didnt have such a huge gap in the middle because I feel like I'm wearing coconuts ... I'll think on it for a while but I'm tempted to add more fluffy greens in between the shell as I really can't see what I could place in the middle to connect the shells together...

That looks amazing!! I love the pearl detail on the shells.
Maybe hang a pearl chain in between the shells to fill the space? Or something similar?
You have done incredible!! 😍😍
