Hello!
So, I decided that I will be making a sequin tail, but I have some questions!
1) Can I hang them with the fluke up? Will that destroy the sequins?
2) How much neoprene should I use? I'm 1,65 m.
3) And how many sequins should I use?
4) Does anyone have any cute colourschemes?
5) Can I add side fins?
Thanks in advance!:)

I never made a sequin tail, but I can answer a FEW of these.
1. yes you can, if you make it with neoprene though rather than hang it up I suggest put a fan inside it to fully dry the neoprene. tails dont typically air dry fast enough to prevent mold, so a fan helps.
3. There's a few guides to sequins in the tail making FAQ that suggest how many bags you need. I would always get extra. Every time we used our sequin tail, sequins came off.
5. Yeah you can pretty much add whatever you want lol

1)Yes that's how mine is hanging in my closet
2)I used 2 yards. I'm 5'6"
3)I did not sequin my fluke only the tail body and went through a little more than 5 bags of 500. I bought 6 and had some left over.
4) What are your favorite colors? That's a good place to start.
5) Yes, do this before you start sequini g.
Hope that helps!

What is the best glue to use to glue sequin onto a fabric tail? I want a realistic looking tail, but I don't have the funds to buy all the best fabric and material. I was thinking about a glue gun and trimming any of the strings that might arise.
Thank you!

On my first one I used about 2 1/2 yards of Neoprene and about 20k sequins (large 22m and small 10mm) I sequined my fluke as well. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170419/0eecf4523ad6f7ec11f576bc743a2771.jpg

Don't use 5mm neoprene! I used that and my tail is so hot to wear! lol
I used about 24k sequins on my tail, but the fluke is huge!
If I'm ever in the mood to make another one I'll def make a smaller fluke.
Also, Im 5'9" so I have a lot of leg length to cover which may be why i used a lot of sequins.

Glue stick glue doesn't work so well for something that will be submersed in water. It can pop off easily - but, you can get a swatch of material and some sequins, glue them on with the glue gun and once it dries you can test it in the water (be sure to leave it in the water for a while to simulate how long you would be in the water with a tail, move the fabric around in the water, etc).
Generally people use E6000 glue for the sequins. Just make sure you work with a mask and/or in a well ventilated area because this glue has bad fumes.
Here is a helpful video on making a sequin tail:

Yeah, unfortunately water, glueguns, and bending do not mix well. e6000 is popular, but the best course of action is plain ol' hand sewing.

You can sew on sequins with a sewing machine, just be careful, they can break your needle or the sequin can break. It's no biggie if you sew carefully. Als use a narrow long zig zag so you still have the stretch of the fabric but you won't puncture the sequins to much. Pic of the tail I'm working on. It's almost done now but this is be best picture I have on my phone https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170421/f61dcf62b071b90e4e944bfafbd8ef0d.jpg

I'm using e6000 but I'm also hand cutting all of my sequins essentially so sewing would probably not go well with the material I'm using
