hello, I'm new

Hello everyone. I'm Shelby and I'm 28. I've loved mermaids ever since Disney's The Little Mermaid and since then I've dreamt of being one. I have been swimming in a mermaid tail off and on since I was eighteen. I purchased my first tail from Merfolk Tails aka FoxMoon Productions. I purchased my second tail a couple of years ago from Miami Beach Mermaids. I use Finis monofins. My dream is to one day own a silicone tail. I have always customized the shape of my fins and I always have green tails. Personally I have to have green because of Ariel. I swim at the local YMCA or outdoor public pools in parks. I'm from the Midwest so I look forward to summer for being able to swim in outdoor pools once the weather and water are warm enough. I was interested in joining these forums for tips on swimming and doing different tricks in the water. I want to improve my mermaid swimming.

I think part of being a mermaid is that you get to stay young forever by living out your childhood dream! In Hans Christian Anderson's original Little Mermaid story mermaids live to be 300 years old before they turn to sea foam!
