Hi all,

I´m new in this forum and I look forward to get to know you. My name is Daniela and I´m a mermaid from good old Europe, dedicated to Greek and German myths. From the age of 6 years, I used to swim in the Mediterranian Sea, convinced that I must be some kind of mermaid, because I always felt safe and home while swimming or sitting on a rock.

Now, in real life, next to being an actress, artist and scientist, I have trained to swim with a tail for over two years to get the most fluid "kick" for film projects. In near future, I hope to construct a mermaid website soon!

Greetings to you all across the oceans (and of course to my fellow Europeans)!

Hi Sirena,

very nice to meet you too, especially that you are my blue-finned first contact to another mermaid ever!!
I have acted in some "normal" films and TV-series in German TV for almost ten years, but now I had the great opportunity to act as a mermaid in a (here very rare) little fantasy movie. Should be finished in early summer.
For my future mersite, I just want to show little data about me, photos, etc. hopefully to get more chances for some more mermaid-acting. I have to admit that I have been a little lazy in things like website, facebook, twitter, youtube etc. So it seems that I have a lot of things to do...

Hi Toxotes,

interesting name you have! Are you a merman? Nice to meet you too.
I have been an undercover mermaid for a long time, I often read posts and advice in meryuku and then in mernetwork before deciding to be a part of it. Now, I am very happy to be here. I think, this place is the best to get in contact with merpeople from all over the world!

Hi Daniela,

maybe you already looked for the meaning of my mer-name, ist the latin name of the family of archerfish.
And yes, i am a merman.

Hi Sea Perl,

I am very happy to meet you too... Your avatar foto is beautiful. Yes, my life is very busy but unfortunately mostly with a lot of other things than mermaiding. But at least I get managed to go tail-swimming at least once in a week to stay trained. And: the good things are always too short!!

Hi Wingéd Mermaid (is Iona your name?),

thanks for your welcome! It´s nice to be here, feels a little bit like mer-home or homepage...
I hope, this film is done in the beginning of summer. I´m very excited about it too, because it is an independent film of a young and promising director. But I have read in this forum how many jobs and shows you all have as mermaids, I think I´ll have to move over ;-))

Hi Daniela, welcome to the site! What kind of tail do you have? Did you make it or buy it? Do you know of anybody doing latex or silicone tails in Europe? Know the question comes up sometimes but never sure who to suggest.

Hi OrcaMatt,

thank you for the welcome! Unfortunately in Europe there is no specialized tailmaker I know. Oh... maybe there are any but working secretly ;-) To be honest, all the other Europeans I have heard are buying tails from MVD or mertailor. The only maker in Germany that I know is the fabric tailmaker from magictails.eu. This is what I wear on my avatar foto. I possess the prototype of MVD´s latex tails (youtube: new green latex mermaid tail) which I am now repainting to fit to my body colors better, because I am the fairy like blond-long-hair- and white-skin-type and I like tails better in golden nuances than green, black and silver which my tail is in original. I wish very much to buy a silicone tail in golden colors, so I would sell the latex one. But I am not sure yet, who will make my dreamtail. I have no opportunity to make it my own, no place, no time, no experience, but I wish I could.

Seems you have an Adam Martyn Tail. These are beautiful. Do you have swimming pictures of you in it? Just curious...

Welcome to MerNetwork! When you movie is done, you should give us all the title. It would be awsome to see a fellow mer in a movie. :)

Hi, thanks for your messages and welcomes, nice to meet you.

@ Bellasea
Yes, I hope the movie is done soon and I will give you the title. Since it will be in German, I will tell you the story. Anyway, I will show up quiet because my appearances are only underwater.....

@ Spindrift
My scientific area is veterinary anatomy and histology, here especially the ovarian components of different avian species. I even have got a catfish study too, which came to my lab last year.
Art? Oh, I wish I had more time to practice it. But if I have the time, I do oil drawings and (more often) do polymer clay sculptures. I mainly have done mermaids in all possible positions, I can post a picture of one of it, if you want.

@Nemefish
I had to laugh when I read this sentence again, which I was writing before. It is a result of my English which seems to need some improvement..... What I meant is: I want to practice the most fluent kick which is possible for my body and tail. I hope you understand ;-))
