View Full Version : What Is Your Dream Pool?

What does the perfect pool look like for you? If you had all the sand-dollars you could dream of, if you could have anything you wanted, how would you build the ultimate mermaiding pool?

41215

Mine would be 12mx6m (40"x20") oval, half would be for fun and games, and half would be for diving, about 3m-4m (10"-13") deep. Really deep pools look awesome, but I couldn't decide because I would worry about wasting water :D One thing I know, there'd be bubbles! The tile colours would be another hard one, light, bright and tropical or dark, deep and mysterious?

Lucky me that I don't have to worry about things like these in reality... At least for now ;) Haha!

Bonus Question: If you had an extra bedroom, what would your mermaid grotto look like? Share pictures!

I've put a lot of thought into my dream pool (as I'm sure we all have haha) and I actually SAW it a few months ago. It was in some girls mermaid series (which I think has been abandoned since then) but it had EVERYTHING I wanted in a dream pool. Was kind of amazing

Hmm... if I had *all* the sand dollars???

Something to this effect for sure:

Natural stone look, varying depths throughout, and most importantly a waterfall with hidden grotto behind it!!

I'd love to see it too Mer-Crazy! What made it so perfect for you? :)

Saborigakusei (phew, you need a nickname, lol), wow! On the other hand I like modern, minimalistic pools, but on the other hand... Wow. And you can make a natural-looking pool chemical free! No nasty chlorine burning your eyes!

I'd have to say my dream pool would be a large, partially above ground glass sided, saltwater pool. One side would have a deck looking like rock and stone, just cool natural scenery with plants. The end of the pool with the waterfall grotto feature would be right up against my house, so that the raised "stone" ground around the small water part would have it's door directly into my house, down a few steps. My actual house's door to that grotto would be a secret bookcase door. It sounds super far fetched, but such doors already exist, and pools like that already do too. It's a huge dream for sure. I think I'd also have a skylight above the part of the pool in the grotto cave for when the full moon comes around, mako style. XD Maybe add some jets just for show!

The picture of saboriga comes pretty close to what most mers dream of, I'm sure.

Waterpark-like, but suited for diving, with connected pools, grottos and lagoons which can be reached by swimming or even through underwater passages.
My personal request would be that the pools be deep. As in, 5m minimum depth.
My main goal is building a modest (as in, not too large or luxurious) pool, but one with acceptable depth.

As for the looks, I'd really like a pool looking like a swimpond, but not actually a swim pond (for cleanliness and higher water temperature).
Something like this

until I get this done, I'll have to freeze in normal lakes :(

Hehehe sorry, my mername is actually Azuri if that helps.

I do love gorgeous modern pools too (and glass walls are awesome!), buuuut I think in the end I'd still have to go for a natural look. I'm really inspired by all the hot springs I visited while in Japan, which usually utilize natural designs, as well as the cenotes I swam in in Mexico. I'm a cave-dweller for sure - lots of nooks for gold, jewels, and treasures I scavenge, and places to keep humans I fancy. ;) So a grotto is an absolute must for me. ^^

The glass wall in my pool would serve as a slice into nature if that makes any sense. It would be easier to film and photograph that way too.

It's very similar to a lot of what everyone else here is after I think :) a shallow bay section and then some way deeper parts, very natural looking with lots of rocks and plants, a little cave, maybe a waterfall and a glass wall for photos. I went looking for the youtube show last night but the owner had deleted them so they're gone now :(

This is dang close to my dream.
I would love a couple of long, winding 'rivers' which fed back into the main pool. So you could go for a longer swim, and the sides would be lined to look 'realistic.
And fish. Would love to have fresh water, and fresh water fish.
I realise it would be VERY hard to maintain. But it's a dream :D

In an earth bermed, or partially underground house, i woukd out my pool in one of the rooms that was half underground and half open. It would be like walking into a cavern. The pool would be kept between 98 and 100° and the cavern and pool would be lit with soft lighting. One wall, woukd be stained glass. Either a picture of random shards of color. Hidden around an alcove would be a large round seashell bed with a hallway leading to a private bathroom so the pool room could double as my bedroom. Preferably the pool would be a salt water pool and the inside would be black and decorated like a natural reef.

As much money as I wanted, and I could do whatever? I'd buy out a plot of land, in some mountain ranges. Strip and clean everything out, and line the whole place. Cover it with an enclosed canopy for climate and pollution control inside, and fill the whole thing with salt water. Create artificial beaches, tide pools, and hire marine biologists to turn it into a giant saltwater aquarium, and accurately recreate a portion of the ocean's ecosystem, with all sorts of ocean critters. Then market it as a ocean wildlife refuge, and use profit from the beaches to build an even larger one, preferably in an urban area where it won't affect or harm much native wildlife. That way I don't need to drive 9 hours to go to since I don't have a passport.

As for realistic? I'd want a large swimming pool, maybe about 20 by 50 feet long, and organically shaped. It'd slope up naturally to all the edges and have a deep and shallow end, with a lazy river connecting each end to the other. And around it, it would be landscaped to look like dunes and a beach, with plants like bamboo, bird of paradise flowers, and palm trees planted around it for privacy.

My dream pool would be a huge, natural, outdoor pool with fish and vegetation and... oh wait, it's called a "lake".

Except lakes don't have nice beaches. And they're often filled with pesky things like other people and boats.

If I had all the sand dollars, I would want a multiple pools connected by a deep lazy river that also had a system of underground tunnelish things (with water so you could keep swimming) that connected to the ocean and my friend's houses. Also, all the pools would have a different theme, so one would have waterfalls and natural stones and plants, while another would have glass above ground for photography and putting on mini shows for the audience that I made up 😂. There would also defiantly be one with coral reef and fish. Plus seashells everywhere. I would want it all to be saltwater as well, because chlorine is a pain. There would probably be one that's super deep too, so i could do some of the cool tricks that you basicly have to be in the ocean for. Okay I'm rambling lol. I may or may not think about this way too much... Anyway yeah. :bubble kiss:
