So...my finfun monofin broke, $#@!.

The plastic insert broke, has a wide crack through the center, but doesn't reach the edges, so it's not split in 2 pieces...at least not yet XD

This is the older fin fun monofin before they went with the better, more resistant material they use today, but i can't afford a new one, as i'm starting college in a few months and blazed through my computer budget earlier.

Anyone knows any good solutions? Any help is really appreciated

honestly I would save for a replacement they can sell you just the plastic insert, I got some. I got extras in case mine broke. too dangerous to try and fix one and use it again

Oh, curious, i never actually done any research on their website for replacements, still, i need to save, as college is going to drain all my money and can't afford those small luxuries.

Thanks anyways, Ania. (And thanks for the fast response, too :D)

http://www.finfunmermaid.com/clearance-specials/extras/monofin-insert-replacement Here's the website for the replacement. 25$ isn't too terrible to save up for. ^_^

Thank you, and yes, it's difficult. College preparations aren't cheap, and i don't have a solid job yet.

I completely understand. I'm out of college now (not by choice unfortunately) and I know how much everything costs. Maybe see if anyone has any odd jobs like cleaning up a friends place, or mowing lawns for quick money.

Aquos, while I don't like the FinFun fin model, because of the feet directly on plastic sheets(for exactly the reason that they can crack and slice people's feet open), I used to use it for Guppy tails. Try going to your local thrift/goodwill/salvation army store and looking for a large plastic bin. Grab a pair of Kitchen scissors and you should be able to cut a similar plastic sheet out of the lid or sides of the bin. I've even used Dollar store plastic Items, like dustpans for the fins in tails for guppies who don't get to go in the water in-tail yet. This option used to get me anywhere between 1-8 fins, depending on size and type(water/non-water) of the tails I was making from any particular bin.

If you're looking less for cheap to make and more for cheap to buy, shoot Grandmere Orchid a message. She's knowledgable on where to buy FinFun knock-off fins for really cheap. https://www.facebook.com/Orchidthejellyfish/?fref=ts
