hello everyone mermaid cassidy (brand new mermaid) !!! (random info about me)

hello everyone. my name is cassidy! i am from Texas. i have put money down on my silicone tail now all i need to do is lose weight and pick my monofin! hard to chose when you dont really know anything yet lol. lets see i am 24 and i have always loved merfolk. it started with Disneys little mermaid. followed by splash and one of the few merman movies the 13th year. ( totally loved that movie i felt like since i was adopted maybe i would turn into a mermaid at 13 lol ) i have always loved water and swimming and trying to be a mermaid. when i was little i would make myself believe i could breath under water ( silly kid ). my parents would get mad cause id swim around the bath tub with my head underwater and make a mess lol. as ive grown tho my love of all things mer and water related has kind of fallen by the side as i have tryed to make my self into an adult. i have found that i struggle to be healthy as i tend to benge eat and not exercise or drink enough water. i also struggle with social anxiety and depression. every day feels like a hard battle just to be my self and to try to smile. on top of this all my mother has been diagnosed with congestive heart failer. so i am reaching out to my mermaid dreams and attempting to let everything else go. i have a boy friend whose supportive of some of the things that i am going through but theirs so much i just cant talk with him about. the whole im a mermaid conversation is going to be hard lol

it sure is hard trying to be a grown up isnt it? at 24 i feel like i am really old lol

i am really excited to talk to other mer folk. i dont think there are many in texas im hopeing i am wrong thow.

it is about to start raining her again today. so stuck inside lol. trying not to go crazy with some of the things happening in my life right now lol

Welcome Cassidy! Congratulations on getting a silicone tail! I'm sorry to hear about your mother and I wish you much luck and joy in your journey and trials.

As for mers in Texas there are quite a few I know of on the forum, I've ran into one in person and I am one! (I live in Austin though (I don't know how far that is from Tomball)).

I came back from a swim not too long ago so I'm doing pretty good!

I have only been a Mer since Feb. Rebela on here gave the the push I needed to make it happen. Since then I have inspired 2 other people that being a mer is a real possibility.

@Slim: I am not far longer doing it than you (december).

@cassidy: I am at the same age as you and I am the oldest mer in ther pools where I am, but this is not bad at all as I am doing it as it is good for my health and beside it is fun too. Don't forget that you can inspire some children and they may enjoy you just for being there. For me it is no problem beeing an adult - it has even advantages. Because you don't grow anymore and you know your physical properties you can make a perfect tail for your body (or buy it from a commercial maker) while children should stay with a fabric as they may grow out soon.

i think austin is like 2 or 3 hours from me. witch sucks cause the only merpeople i know of in texas are from austin. there are like none close to me :( i cant wait to swim in my tail. gotta lose like 35 pounds first tho.

lol fabianfrz what age are the mer usually that you've met? i feel like i might be starting this late in the game lol im getting mine made by mernation. got it all designed and paid for just need to lose the weight and get the monofin !!!

I assume an age between 8 and 12 so compared to them I am a bit old ;)

BTW: I think you misread where I am from. Austria (Österreich in german) is a country in central europe. It's between Italy and Germany and in the east of swizerland.

Actually Mermaid Cassidy was responding to me saying I live and have met mers in Austin.
Austria though, that's way cool! I've never been, what's it like there? I presume due to the surrounding countries it can get quite cold.
