Today I sewed my tail, and my sister tried it on. So now I'm making a tail for my sweet sister, and we're looking at making a monofin. We found a plastic sheet from a binder, cut it to a shape she likes, and now we're trying to figure out what to do, or if it will even work. Any suggestions?

Is this a monofin she wants to swim in? If not, there's unlimited options of what you can do. Otherwise, consider how apt the material is to cracking or shattering, how it holds up to chemicals, elements, heat, and sun.

she plans to swim, so it sounds like I'll have to do some tests.
You will probably be fine, safety wise. You can bend those binder things until the cows come home and they won't break. The only problem is she won't get much propulsion so sea swimming is probably not a good idea. Although, she will have a nice, swooshy fluke, so that is nice.

Could you glue/bolt/something an old pair of water shoes onto it? Watershoes are made not to cause too much blisters or friction when they are wet, so they seem like a good choice. Or you could make a pair of sock-type things from swimsuit material. Just some ideas.
