Hi, I'm mermaid Kendra. I was born and raised in Jamaica. Mermaids from Jamaica are called River Mumma. I moved to the USA three months ago, and now I'm living in NY. I've always been a mermaid since birth(my mum has some stories to tell:blush:). I speak four languages. I just finished making my tail after years of getting the little things to get it done(I will upload photos one day). Her name is Noel. I love writing poetry, I am an activist, I like to sit on rocks and sing, and I am hopefully trying to find more mers of colour. I am in the lgbtq+ community and I love to sing. I am trying to make some friends on here so If you want to send a friend request and chat, I am open.

This is such lovely and rich folklore :D I actually just came back from visiting Jamaica, I spent some time in Ocho Rios. I had a chance to stretch my fins in the Luminous Lagoon, and what a truly incredible experience it was. I also took a dip in Dunn's River Falls which was very refreshing. The waters in Jamaica are truly a sight to behold, it's no wonder you ended up a mermaid ;) I would love to return again to swim in other places, your country is so beautiful.
