I have the mermaid glitter sparkles tail, and I love it! While it's not one of the pro tails, I can't speak high enough of the quality. The fabric is super thick and durable, hasn't got any scrapes or pills on it when I know I've accidentally hit it on walls, pool bottoms, etc when I wasn't being super careful. I've even stood in it a few times when I really had to. It fits like it was custom made for me. Overall, can't stress the quality enough! Super reasonable prices, relatively unknown tailmaker, but extremely worth it!

The non pro is so much better than a fin fun having tried it myself. The pro model must be amazing if I love the non pro kind.

Wow it sounds great! I have a magictail pro skin and I'm not happy with how see through and delicate it is. I'm so going to start saving for one of the swimtails ones!

As it happens I just got a reply to an email I sent yesterday asking about the material their pro tails are made from.

I'm looking as swimtails pro aswell for a new tail(my first commercial, my very first was self made). And saw that they say in brackets it's not neoprene. I'll post a screenshot if I get a chance.

Does anyone have reviews of the pro line? I've searched but I've only found reviews for the normal line, and most of them are pretty happy with the tail. I was considering getting the normal line of tails, but found mixed reviews of the FINIS Aquarius monofins. Also, I already have a Mahina monofin so it makes sense to get a pro tail.

I really want to get the green one (that looks like the Little Mermaid!) but I want to know about the durability of the material, etc.

Since I already own a Mahina, I went ahead and ordered one of the pro tails even though it's not neoprene, just heavy weight spandex. They had their tails on sale again, and I figure under $200 isn't bad for a fabric tail skin when the other Mahina compatible options (Mermaid Inc and Magictail) would have meant international shipping. Unfortunately, I'll have to get it tailored to fit me since I am between sizes. My waist is a M but my butt is a 1X, so I ordered it to fit the largest part of me and will have the rest taken in. It will probably fit high on the waist, but I personally prefer high waisted tails. When it arrives I'll post, but I won't have any data to crunch about durability until I get it fitted and take it for a swim.

It's good that you went a size larger. They run a bit short. I have to add extra fabric to make mine so it doesn't show Mermaid crack and I'm only 5'2

Really? That's so strange. Imagine those people with long legs, that would be a nightmare for them to fit into it. Luckily I'm only 5'0, but I might consider sizing up just in case.

It came!! Apparently the pro tails have a longer shipping time than the regular tails, 3 weeks instead of 5-12 business days. I guess they don't keep them in stock and make them per order.

I was right to order the 1X as it fits everywhere except the waist, which needs taking in a lot. I'm 5'1" and it comes up a few inches past my waist, practically under my boobs, but at least it's not too short. The waist has 1" wide elastic, which I might take out and replace with 2" since I have to make it shorter anyway, I can just fold the extra material over the new elastic.

I was very impressed with the fabric, it's definitely not the usual spandex you see in tails, more like a sport knit or something heavier weight. It was thick enough you couldn't see my red underwear through them when I tried the tail on.

The fluke has a side zipper for inserting the mono fin. I got my Mahina in on the second try, but only time will tell how durable it is before jamming or tearing the seams from the stress of inserting/removing the monofin for cleaning/drying the tail. I'll try to minimize wear on it.

I picked the Mako Blue and the pattern itself is beautiful in person. The middle lighter scales are slightly off center to mimic light reflecting off them at an angle, which I'm not sure I like since it kind of looks like my tail is just twisted around, but overall I'm still pleased with how it looks.

Pics to come later and more details once I get it tailored and can swim in it!

I bought the pink glitter tail skin for a friend of mine, but she hasn't bought her monofin yet, so I have no feedback on the performance of it. Based on the picture she sent me though, it looks like the glitter is done with some sort of holographic spandex.

Edit: I feel the need to point this out, it took a couple of weeks for the tail to ship out. Apparently the tails are made upon ordering, which is probably why they don't have any photos or videos of the products until somebody buys them. It was likely there never was a physical copy of the tail until I ordered it or if there was, they never did a shoot with it. Even all of the pictures on the site are just digital illustrations. Even the models on their pages aren't actually wearing the tails, but are photoshopped into them.

I know UnicornMermaid, same.

I really like the new betta tails they made because it's one of the only options of fabric tails that has a large fluke.

And to make it better they have all those extra fins, which I adore. I know finfolk has made their own fabric tails and you can add on fins and the like, but with how hard it is to get one and all the kinks in the first line I really don't want to purchase from finfolk.

I hope to see some real reviews soon on the betta tails!

Ahhh I finally just placed an order for a Princess Pro mermaid tail! I was in between sizes so I just sized up to be safe. So excited for it to come! (although it'll only ship 3 weeks after purchase and has to go from US to Singapore).

I was considering getting a Siren tail, but the prices were just too steep. There are some nice photos and reviews online though, Mermaid Ginger has really pretty photos and videos of her wearing it on Instagram.

I saw another mermaid with a swintails pro betta style tail, and it was really pretty. It was the first time I got to see/feel the "scuba knit" fabic, and it's really nice, but nothing at all like neoprene. I'd say it's like a really thick, softer spandex. I decided to call Swimtails and add the matching top after I saw it.

I'm in that annoying "waiting to get it now that it's ordered" stage, too. :P

Mermaid Brandie, thank you so much for your unboxing video !

I already own 2 FinFun tails and one that I sewed.

I saw the Betta tail on Instagram and I WANTED it, but my monofin is a carbon competition GoldenFish one, so I didn't know it it would fit in the skin. Swimtails answered me on Instagram that it would be OK (however, I also wrote them an e-mail to ask but they never answered...), so I ordered my Sand Betta on saturday. Your video really helped me to understand how is the tail construction, so it was really useful !

I hope it will be okay since I was between two measurements. I ordered the smallest one, because I don't want my tail to fall down when I swim (my competition monofin is hyper fast).

I also read yesterday on Instagram that there soon will be a matching top available, so I wrote today to Swimtails to ask if they could wait and send my Betta when the top will be available, because shipping and customs prices for Switzerland are pretty high. I hope it will be OK too. :)

So, let's wait and see ! :)

My Pro tail finally came! Swimtails said it would take 3 weeks but it ended up taking 4 1/2 weeks. But so far I'm quite happy with it, it's made of thick material that isn't see-through, even though it's very light-coloured.

Hello there ! :-)

My Betta tail has arrived ! I'll put pictures as soon as I can make great ones.

I have a little problem : it is bigger than my professional carbon fiber monofin and doesn't enter in its bag.

How do you carry the Betta with you ? It seems to be flexible but I'm afraid the vinyl part of the fin won't take its initial shape again if I bend it.

I am really loving the look of the Betta tails. Would a finis shooter fit/work with them as well? I already have two monofins and I am on the fence of wanting to fork out another 90/100 euros for a mahina fin. As far as I can see they are constructed similarly to the finfolk fabric tails except that the fabric is different?

probably? it's the same kind of vinyl in the finfolk fabric ones so i imagine it would fit since they're designed for the mahina.

I don't know maybe it's just me but Mertailor released his new scales before the Bettas became available [emoji102] just saying, it's suspicious lol, could that be considered a copyright infringement or am I missing something

Btw has anyone had any problems with getting swimtails to answer emails? I sent them a request just over a week ago and all I've gotten were one of those automatic " thank you we'll get back to you in 24hours" emails , does anyone know if they do custom tails on the pro line, like the siren tails for example. I really like them but I want a slightly different color and I've seen them mention "custom" tails on their instagram , I was wind if anyone had any experience ordering a custom color from them and what I can expect?

Examples of custom tails being mentioned

have you tried calling them when they're open?

They're a very small company and only one guy handles emails and the phones. I would call them during their hours.

Problem is I live in South Africa and because of the difference in time zones and my retail job that prohibits private phone calls (unless emergency...yes they are that rigid) I'm relying on my email being responded to.

Has anyone seen any of the Siren tails in person? I’m finding it hard to find real life pictures and not the mock-up on their website. I can’t find any reviews either
