View Full Version : I want a new a new mer name.
I could use people help with this one. I want a new name so I can retired Slim. Though I may keep the name for in person and local visits, it's no longer the name I want to use online. The name has been tainted due to drama which is why I want move away from it. I still talk with a mix of the 11th doctor & Clara tone. I have two black tails. I also have a green scale one which I'm sure everyone is aware that I try to avoid talking about. I love helping people as much as I can. So much so that even people I can't stand, I will help them in the end. My heart is my weakness but it's my strength. We got a got a creative group of people on the mernetwork so hopefully something awesome will be thought off. I may be a merman but I will use merman ***** if need be. I do like to drop the merman if possible as I think gender neutral names are the best.

I'm not sure what drama, I tend to avoid that. But please don't let anyone sour you, or make you uncomfortable with anything that is part of you. You are beautiful. Just keep rocking you. I don't know you well enough to name you. But you seem like someone worth knowing.

What about barracuda? It's part of one of your tails name and they're blackish and silver! It sounds kinda tough and mean, but they're long and skinny if you wanna keep that aspect! Plus no one would mess with someone with barracuda in their name. They also school! So just like you, they like to be with other barracudas (mers). Or you could go with something short and sweet like blu or kai or something. Kai has a lot of meanings in different languages, like harbor and strength!

I've no clue if any of these are taken but its fun to look them up and adapt.

But, soon-to-be-mer-formally-known-as-Slim, do know that there is a Merman Jax. Whether that name being close to the other matters or not is up to you. Merman Jax is a performer, so he's already got a presence online. He's very good at what he does. He's my favorite performing merman. :)

I was thinking it sounded great until I saw his profile. Leave it to this 6'3" guy to admit that I feel soo small looking at his picture. If merman Jax didn't already have the name, i would had probably choice is as soon as Jaxon Tide was mention. Seem I'm back to siding with Kai at the moment. Part of me still don't want to put the name Slim in the past but I know it's important if I retired that name for a couple months at least. Please keep on suggesting. I should have my final decision by the end of the 18th or earlier. I understand on the 10th doctor (Doctor Who) felt when he said "I didn't want to go!" before he regenerated. I will be the same person with the same mind but I have a different way of doing things (like a regeneration) and true to myself. When I do bring back the name Slim, I want to be bigger than the person who made me feel it was time to retired the name temporary.

I'm letting it get me more determined that I will be more successful. The only part of it that getting me down is the fact my trusted was used. I will not go into detail as that what the drama thread is for. I try to be the nicest guy I can be though I will say something if I see someone getting used.
Kazran or Hath? I was searching for Dr. Who fishy characters or references. You really shouldn't let other people get you so down. You seem like a nice guy to me.

I thought about it and feel using a substitute word for it wouldn't work. Being thin is my body shape and it's one of the first thing people notice. Choosing a name not related to it will force some people to get to know me to figure out who I am and see the real me. Maybe that why Kai has always been my 2nd choice.

I'm with Lotusauriel. Unless if you have been wanting to change your name for other reasons, I wouldn't change it just because of drama. There are a lot of mers on here who have been dragged into drama before. Just think how confusing it would have been if they decided to change their name every time they got mixed up in some drama. I think that if Slim is the name you want to return to, maybe you shouldn't leave it at all. But I don't want to pressure you too much if you were wanting a name change for other reasons as well. :hug:

Though I went quiet and remain quiet, the person talks to others and left groups with over exaggeration of things. No true detail of it but I see karma from her own doing. I will still remain silent and do nothing about it. Slim fits me the best and there would never be a name more perfect for me than that. Being tall and skinny is what I'm known for beside my willingness to help anyone.

Everybody has haters. For whatever reason, whether you figure it out, fix it, or just let it go, you just have to go on being and doing you. Don't worry about what other people say or think. In the end, YOU will show what you really are.

If the name suits you and you love it then stick with it! I don't know what drama you're referring to and I doubt most here do either, or care for that matter. I certainly wouldn't let another person in ANY way dictate my choice of name...especially one I loved. Sounds like Slim for the WIN!:cool:
I'm trying to truly let it go. This would be the 2nd time in my life I have truly gave up on thinking someone could be a good person and accept the fact that some people can truly run on hate and selfishness. I'm always going to be awesome and I will always be me.

The thing is, when it comes to people who cause trouble aka drama, the online mer community knows it. People can point fingers as much as they want, everyone can see who is actually a repeat drama-causer, who got sucked in, who handled it the best they could, etc. Some will have their own opinions about it, but most people just don't care if they're not involved. If you change your name one day, I hope it's for the right reason. If someone gets their name dragged by someone else, they should know that their name is not really sullied by that. One's own actions are what matters, because that's what people will go by.
So if your concern was only that your good name was used badly, I'd definitely hold onto it, because it's stronger than all that.
