View Full Version : Conch Shell Horn Help
Since I started mermaiding as a merman, I already knew what my accessory would be. I keep more of the Doctor (Doctor Who) influences in my mersona so a trident is definitely not my tool of choice. A former friend agreed with and offer to make a conch shell horn. I agree to let her do it (yes my first regret) and this is the result after a little over 2 months.

She barely drilled a hole into it (beside sent it to my mom and not me when she did send it). The average size for the mouth piece for the horn is suppose to be a dime size. I don't have the tools and time to get this working. Would anyone here be interested in getting this working or work out a trade (I got a huge retro game collection and I'm willing to part away from an old game or two)? Until hours pick back up at work or I get a 2nd job, the funds are tight unless you want something from Best Buy. Thank you for those that took the time to read.

So you need a bigger drill bit? And a dremel. Wish I was closer.

I got no problem sending it. I can send it in the middle of the month or early next month. All I have for tools is a hammer and screw driver set. I'm only skilled in putting things together and fixing computer. Craft skill I just stink but I got other strengths.

Sure, why not? Does it sound at all?

If I blow at the hole just right, it does magnify the sound of blowing. The hole is too small for a proper blow

No worries. Whenever you're ready.
I can send it out at anytime. What did you want in return for the work or how much?

I have a lag in postings. LOL. My phone keeps notifying me via MerNetwork, Tapatalk, and two different email programs. LOL. So yeah. I don't need anything. You just cover shipping.
I just want this thing working. I never played an instrument so this is the thing I was going to learn on. I'll send it up with a Altec Mini H20 bluetooth speaker (it's waterproof and floats) in the same box. If you can get this working for me, I'll be the happiest merman in the spring. I'll try to send in the next couple days and I'll put money in box to cover the return shipping also of the shell. Would that be alright?
I never used that bluetooth speaker anyways so it'll be a gift for helping me out.

I only know him because my local renfaire likes to screw over anyone with skill or talent. LOL. I've always been fascinated with mermaids, but never knew it was a thing until Joseph and Ariel told me to join MerNetwork, to get ideas for making a tail.
I never spoke or Seen Joseph before but I had swim with Ariel before. She is awesome and has the most realistic tail I seen in my life.

You could buy a seashell shaped ocarina if you still wanted to play a natural looking instrument.

You say this, I know to Slim... but I play the flute... and have close to 20, of different kinds, lol. Already googled it, and it's probably going to happen. Lol

Admin, can I have this thread closed? The person the shell was sent to to fix it NEVER sent it back me. The person didn't even at least sent the cash back that was sent with it to return the shell. Everything is consider a loss.
