OK, so here's a Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire fan theory that I thought might interest mers who follow the film or book series.

Yes, it's that Varys is actually a merman, or, as they're called in the books "merling". Other characters may be merlings, or have merling ancestry too.
