This picture shows how the tail colors will look when finished and I based it off of the mono fin that I'm going to purchase.

Next, I'm showing you the blueprint of the mermaid tail and how every thing may look on the inside!

The materials I'm going to be using is:

3M Marine Grade Silicone Sealant, Clear
It's mildew resistant, non-sagging, and moisture cure
non-yellowing and remains flexible after years of exposure

3M Marine Grade Silicone Sealant, White
the same as the clear

Patgoal Waterproof Silicone Repair self-bonding Tape, Black
Strong repair tape that fixes pipes and tapes up holes in pools.

Mahina Mono Fin Adult Medium
Tail design based on this mono fin.

Neoprene
great fabric

Zipper

Krylon spray paint
This will be covered by the clear silicone

But other than that this is what materials I'll use to make my tail and I know it can last in Salt water and Fresh water but will this tail even last in Chorine water? I'm not quite sure but can you guys help me out on that part?

I've been a competitive swimmer for 13 years now and I know the silicone should be fine in the chlorinated water. Silicone swim caps are a very popular choice for swimmers. Most are about 1mm thick but they make thicker ones for competition purposes. Most last at least 1-2 years depending on how much you take care of it. The thicker the silicone, the less likely it'll rip. The only reason they rip is because of wear and tear. Stretching a cap over your head every day will do that.

I'm also in the process of making my tail and am also using a mahina mono fin. My biggest concern for your tail is how you're going to get the silicone to adhere to the rubber of the monofin.

I'll use the silicone tape then I think it might help out.

Silicone tape?
Look it up its actually pretty neat and I know it can last because one of review's said that the tape fixed her hot water pipe and adheres to itself making a water proof seal and is even used to fix above ground pools.

The product sounds nice but I'm worried it won't bond to rubber. Silicone only bonds to itself and the tape rolls I found say it bonds to itself when it overlaps.

It's what I'm going to do besides like tape it has a stick side and this will be cover over by more silicone to ensure it's stays and not touching the rubber I'm worried if I use actual duct tape it will fall apart

silicone sealant will definitely stick to the rubber monofin, no need to worry about that!
