I don't know if a thread like this already exists or not. But I thought it would be cool to post the tech we like and don't like some where and if any of you mers are into gaming or anime as well. I want to hear about all the tech you love !!! Or hate !!! The game y'all play and the anime you watch !!! Figured this would be a great thread for all of us who love mermaiding and also share a love of all things techy and anime !!! No limits !!!! Anything you think is awesome shout it out !!!!

my favorite tech has to be my amazon echo. It can do so much stuff play music send messages call other amazon devices, make lists, set alarms, set timers, and soooo much more and when paired with a couple other things can fully automate your home.

i have a fit bit surge. As my activity tracker but haven't really got to use it since I have been sick.
i also have a iPod shuffle ( currently despairing because it is lost and was a gift ) and some blue tooth head phones for exercise.

i have and iPhone and iPad, I can use these but trying to operate a apple laptop is beyond me. I really want a 100% water proof phone so I can take it into the pool but I am just wary of learning a new operateing system since I can be technologically challenged.

I have a Xbox 1s and PS4 pro lol witch I mainly use for Netflix YouTube and Vudu thow I ocassionally play sky rim and digital monopoly.

i have seen almost every anime on Netflix lol. Not much you can do when constantly sick in bed.

I have seen many others as well. SAO is a favorite, along with fairy tail, bleach, naruto, inuyasha, fruits basket, Oran host club, vampire knight, loveless, kk, fate stay knight, black butler, magi, durarara and the list can go on forever.

You should try Crunchyroll for Anime if you don't mind subs. They have a much more comprehensive selection than Netflix and if you don't mind ads, they are free. I'm on my way to work atm I'll take time to reply with a proper list later. :)

I'm a nerdmaid proud and strong. I do all my filming with a GoPro HERO3 Black but want to upgrade soon. I have a Canon T5i DSLR for other filming and set the frame rate to 30fps to match that of my GoPro (I know, it's not everyone's favorite fps rate but I like it for underwater stuff)

In regards to editing, I've FINALLY upgraded my system from a crappy 2009 Toshiba with Adobe Premiere Elements to a MacBook Pro 2011 with the entire Adobe Creative Suite. So my software for videos is primarily Premiere Pro CS6 - no subscriptions for me! I'm trying to use Final Cut Pro but I lowkey hate it as I'm still not an Apple person entirely.
I went to a high school with one of the largest computer departments in the province and have used incredibly fast Windows machines for graphics, special effects, 3D modelling, Web design and video production.

I also really enjoy lighting tech and taught myself DMXing for my schools musical in my senior year. I used MPC to control everything and it almost killed me in the process. I want to do more.

On the other end of things, I went to school this past year for Sound Production Music and Media and spent a fair amount of time in the recording studio using ProTools and Logic. I liked it, but found over the course of the year that I enjoy live mixing more. My practicum entailed using a BEAUTIFUL Bherringer X-32 digital board and going back to my home church with all analouge stuff made me just a little bit sad. I still am a church techie though, running sound and media (we use Proclaim for the video system).

As of right now, I'm pursuing a career in ALL of this stuff and am currently a General Technician at Riggit, which is responsible for all the big concerts in Vancouver. It sounds impressive but all I really do right now is push road cases haha. Check back with me in a few months though, I'm planning on moving up fast in the live AV world.

I don't do much gaming, but recently discovered Civilization VI and like it a lot. I play a lot of board games with my family, so that's probably why.
My father raised me well to like Star Wars, LOTR and Pixar movies. I cosplay as Rey from time to time and I'm currently reading through all of the Lord of the Rings books. I also collect Funko pops as well as mermaid tails, but I think the latter of the two outnumbers the former.

Alright, so I'm not sure if it counts as tech but I'm more of an artsy type than anything so I have a pretty nice camera and tablet that I use to work on my photography. I own a 7D Mark II Canon and a Wacom Cintiq 24".

Big into cosplay and anime when I was younger. I loved a lot of the same things you do, but cosplayed as Edward Elric, Link, Shiek, Inuyasha and more over a 5 period time going to Anime North. When I moved to Vancouver people kind of looked down on it as a hobby and I sort of gave it up. Just started getting back into it letting my artsy side shine through this past year.

Not big into automation stuff though I do like Hue Lighting. For the most part the tech I have I've been interested in using to build more props for window displays. I'm hoping to do a harry potter themed one for work this year with self stirring cauldrons, talking hats and moving owls. :P

I also like technology. My laptop is running Arch Linux [1] and I love the command line. It's awesome how much can be done using C and/or Ruby [2].
My computer does not have a lot of games (just some standard games) but developing software and scripts is fun too. Some of them are shared on GitHub [3] and I contribute to an open source firewall project [4].

*sigh* Old geek here - my first computer wasn't a PC. It wasn't CP/M either... Didn't even use a microprocessor - the processor itself was all discrete TTL logic. Wrote an assembler for it in PASCAL, OVER a 1200-baud dial-up into the PDP-11/45 at a state college running Unix BSD... Even built the modem, the video display controller (for my 'home' computer), etc. Newbies... LOL
