Hello fellow Water People!

I am originally from Alaska...I am a filmmaker, photographer, scuba and free diver. I was raised by the ocean and have an affinity for the water. I love diving in every capacity and have been very lucky to have been given the opportunity to explore the ocean through that medium. I recently discovered that there are Mercommunities and I find this support to be both enriching and fascinating.

Diving came along in my life when I needed it most. It was a means of therapy through some personal trauma and I know that I am not the only one out there who has found comfort in being in the water. I would love to meet more like-minded people and eventually share stories about what makes being a merperson so special.

I am currently creating a documentary project with a fellow filmmaker about modern mermaids and would love to find more stories, resources, and information. Can't wait to hear from you!

If you would like to view the work of my partner and I will post the links below...

Atargatis! I see what you did there ;)

you might find my books and resources helpful, I've done a lot of research on the topic :) I'm currently the subject of my own documentary but it's moreso focused on me as a mermaid.

Welcome to the Waters, atargatis! Hope you enjoy it here. The community is very diverse so you should have plenty to work with for your documentary!
