Help!

[Mermaid Mia]

I am making a new tail to wear at an event TOMORROW and decided to use that pretty reversible sequin fabric. The problem is: its done, its gorgeous, its too small. My pattern allows for horizontal stretch and the fabric is only vertically stretching. It wont go ON. Help? Please.

Ok so my freind came home and we talked it over and im going to put a panel of the silver spandex in the back (much like my first purple and black tail). So the side seams might end up a little wonky and it might not be my final solution but I'm gonna roll with it for now and let y'all know how it goes. Sorry for the panicking post.

Update: cut open back and my freind measured how much extra i needed. Instaled a sparkily panel, fitted it, and put in an elastic waistband. Because it does not stretch and the sequins are heavy swimming will probably be ... interesting. But I'm very satisfied with how it looks.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement :) i really have a tendency to panic when there are simple solutions right in front of me. I hope i never have to work with two way stretch again though cause i don't like it lol. Anyway here is a pic of the tail today in all its blinding glory.

Hopefully tomorrow i will close off the bottom (i forgot my Velcro when i was working yesterday) and go swimming :)

Took it swimming! Was super comfortable. Slid down my waist a little but overall not to heavy or anything.
