So I have always liked the look of the sequin tails and recently saw a tail maker that covers hers in latex after. I really like the overall look, with the silicone fluke and am thinking I might want to give this a try. I am creative and have always adjusted my fabric tails but this will be my first time using silicone or latex. Has anyone had any experience adding a covering of latex on top of sequin? What can I expect? How do you add the fluke to the tail and make it stay and look natural? I would appreciate any advise and will keep everyone posted on my progress.

Sequins will cut through the layer of latex (and also silicone) and silicone won't cure when it's close to latex :(

Pearliemae managed to get chunky glitter into silicone by using tule though (I think) maybe that would work? Tests are your friend. I'd advice against the silicone/latex combination, if you're using silicone anyway I'd go full silicone. This will also extend the lifespan of the tail ^-^

Latex also cures a cloudy color, it doesn't cure completely clear, so I'm not sure how the sequins would look through it (depends on how thick the layer is.)
If you want to attach latex anywhere near silicone, you have to wait until both are -completely- cured. Silicone won't cure around latex.
Glues also don't like to stick to silicone (most people use more silicone as a 'glue'), so you'd have to have a way of sewing the pieces together.

latex disintegrates over time, and be aware that many people have latex allergies if you're going to use it in a public setting

Latex is very susceptible to UV damage, and unpigmented latex even more so.
I have a latex tail (the one in my sig), and the unpigmented waistband has noticably taken UV damage over the rest of the tail.
