Hey everyone. First time posting; I was introduced to the group from someone who has been on here for a while and wanted to join because I liked the community.
Ive been researching mermaid related building tutorials for years and am experienced in silicone prosthetics, with the goal of making my first silicone tail by next year. For right now, I just got my first monofin and have used my friend's for a couple months to get practice with technique, and am just about to finish up my first fabric tail using a basic pattern idea my friend uses.
Right now my own fin is in the early planning/ sketchbook stage but I'm hoping to start sculpting the master in a couple of months. Mostly I've been working on dimensional sketches and material tests of different silicones to know what to use. And currently I am pool-locked and practice in my alma mater's swimming pool twice a week.
I'm also taking singing lessons in the hope to one day achieve being a siren mermaid.
Other than that I've been a fish since I was 3 and swim a ton.
