Hello from Ohio

Hello everyone,
My name is Jonathan and I'm from Cleveland, Ohio. I'm am brand new to the merman scene. I have purchased a tail, but have not had a chance to swim in it. Honestly, being a guy has kept me from looking into swimming as a merman because of how I feel people would feel about it. I'm here to meet new friends and maybe some people close by to go swimming and show me the ropes. I want thank mermaid tami for recommending this site. Welcome! I'm happy to hear you bought a tail! I'm not a guy, but I do kinda understand how uncomfortable you might feel swimming in your tail for the first time in public. I was the first mermaid in my area and when I brought my tail to the pool, a lot of people gave me funny looks. But you're always gonna get those people that don't like seeing other people having fun and all you can do is ignore them. I was honestly more concerned the pool wouldn't let me swim in my fin even though I've been a competitive swimmer there for 13 years! But everything turned out fine! The more I swam in it there, the more comfortable I began to feel. It started becoming normal to everyone there and nobody really thought much of it. (except for the kids, they all loved it!) I guess what I'm getting at, is that it'll feel weird at first, like ripping off a band-aid with wet skin, but over time things will feel normal again.

Another Ohio mer! I grew up in Parma right near Cleveland and went to Case Western for college! I moved to Maryland now but I do visit my family fairly often.
