I'm Irvette, or Ginny. I live in South Florida. I work as a Sea Turtle Specialist on the beach here and also teach ESL. I'm slowly putting myself out in the mermaid world since I'm pregnant right now.

Yes, sadly the hurricane has wiped out the sea turtle nests. I have a fabric tail. I want a silicone tail but would not want to even think of getting one until I'm no longer pregnant and lost baby weight lol. I can't even really swim in my fabric one right now with my belly

I am in a similar boat. Thow I am not pregnant I am over waight by about 35 pounds. I have purchased 95% of my silicone tail. Was 100 the i divided to up my monofin to competitor and do a double dorsal with hip and heal fins so I need to pay for throws additions.

But out I can not do my measurements for my tail or have it started till I get my body back where I want it to be.

i hope the sea turtles will bounce back that's a really hard loss

i have a fun fun fabric tail but I don't like it as the monofin is just a thin foam piece that bends and has no force behind it

my tail maker is actually in Florida. I think she is right outside of Tampa really hopeing all Florida mers are safe.

do you have a tail maker in mind for when you get your silicone tail?

No, I haven't decided yet. Maybe Mermaid Jessica because she is more local to me and did the tails for the other mermaids I know from here from when I helped them out during the Renaissance Festival

Your clothes are adorable! Do you have a name picked out for the baby yet? And I really feel for FL right now. I have friends/family who live there and have been devastated by the effects of the storms. Stay safe please <3

Also, getting a silicone tail may be a great motivator to losing the baby weight/keeping it off & staying active! Best of luck~~

Welcome Irvette! :D Wow, working as a Sea Turtle specialist is my dream job. May I ask, what did you study? Marine biology? I have three tortoises, and I absolutely adore all kinds of turtles.

What kind of silicone tail would you like? What colors etc?

I studied theatre lol. But my obsession with the ocean led to many volunteer jobs and the volunteer jobs led to this job. I'm still undecided on what I want from the tail. And I'll take pictures once I decorate. Right now our decorations are sitting around instead of up. We only moved into the house a month ago

Congratulations i just got married a few weeks ago and we are not ready for kids any time soon but he wants a boy so badly when we do Did you lose power at all we are still out of power here and supposed to be out until sunday
