You will have to order after you lose all of the weight. Tails are tailored very, very finely. I also checked your profile, and it says you are nineteen. I would wait until you've lost all the weight you are planning, AND are 20 so your body has settled.

It takes 6-9 months if they are fast, often longer. That's the reason your body needs to be settled (not growing). You also said you want to get stronger first, which lends to you losing fat and probably make you smaller. Trust me.

Please listen to the many voices of wisdom. You should really wait, and get a fabric tail for now.

Actually, basic tails tend to have much shorter wait times, since they are not custom built, but rather, custom painted. I would say 3 months or less for a basic tail, and that's a generous estimate.

Growth plates tend to fuse around 17-18, if not earlier in some cases. Not much will change besides weight at that point.

Also, if you get a bigger tail and then lose weight anyway, you can send it in to be taken in/altered. You'd just have to find a tailmaker with that option, like MerNation's e-mer-gency clinic.

Not everything is so set in stone. Luna has stated she won't have the funds till next summer anyway, which gives her time to debate the purchase as well as train for it.

Mermaid Whisper thank u I was so worried that it would take so long to have them make it! I wanted it by this summer so we can practice my friend and I in our pool and out at the Lake to take pictures and lay on the boat,

That's good to know, thank you. :)
