Does anyone know anything about the tail maker Alex Martin?

I've never heard of him, but a tail I may be buying secondhand is made by him, according to its current owner. She said he stopped making tails in 2009.
Does anyone know why he stopped or anything about him?
Or how much he sold his full silicone tails for? (The seller also bought it secondhand). Were there any [known] issues with his tails and that's why he stopped?

If he's the guy I think he is, Alexander Martin.

He is a crook. From what I remember, he made a few custom tails back in the day and continued taking orders. But he stopped making the tails. So he was basically stealing people's money. Because it was mostly international there wasn't any legal discourse that could be sought but he kind of disappeared when everyone in the community started labeling him as a fraud tail maker and his "clients" kept trying to contact him to get their money back.

But if this is a different Alex Martin then I'm totally wrong. lol.

It would help if there was a photo to help distinguish the work.

Thank you. Do you know anything about his quality?
This tail in particular needs a lot of work, but is it at all reputable enough to resell?
This tail is owned by a gal in Italy, so that actually makes sense. It definitely sounds like the same person.

Yes. I was here when it went down.

He scammed loads of people out of tens of thousands of dollars. Then he went to Hungry so no one could catch him.

The tail is his work, I remember seeing the person who bought it trying to sell it.

He sold his tails for 4-5k

That is truly outrageous. :/

yeah there was a news story on him and everything. We had a section on mer-yuku where everything was documented but I am not sure if it got brought over here.

Yeah, he was a con man. I think his name is Adam Martin, or maybe Adam Martyn.

I wouldn't buy it because I don't trust a guy like that to make a quality product. And buying an eight year old tail that's had at least two other owners makes me even more wary.

I dont think it has a monofin either. His tails were more showy less functional.
