Ok so I’ve heard Raina say mers are prone to sinus and ear infections witch is why she recommends nose and ear plugs. So throws of you who have sinus problems ( I have them regularly ) have any of you had the sinus surgery to fix this? I know swimming isn’t allowed for a while afterwards. But when you are healed dose it change your swimming or anything about your daily life? I am scheduled to have this surgery as well as tonsils out later this week. Want to make sure this has no long term negative side effects for my mer life !!!!

Any my help or general information is much appreciated thank you !!!!

I know someone who under went major sinus surgery. He says it didn't effect his swimming after it healed and he was allowed to swim again. It did change his everyday life, in the way he is able to breathe through his nose now so that's awesome! :D
But there are different kinds of sinus surgeries that can cause different problems/results. So it is best to discuss this with the surgeon beforehand. I hope everything works out. :)

It'll depend on what they do. It might make things easier to equalize pressure, but it could make things harder to seal off. I was swimming just fine after adenoids and tubes in the ears, but did have to at least wear cotton plugs until the tubes healed.

Free/scuba diving can also keep some of the bad stuff at bay due to the increased partial pressure of oxygen when submerged.

I've been out a while due to a bout of blastomycosis. (fungal lung infection)

so I actually finally saw a specialist!
she has me on special nasal spray and a tool used to help you equalize ears! I'm going to do a video about it
