Should I change my mername?

When I first joined the community, I didn't even know what mernames were, because everyone I had seen on the internet just used their real name. But, yeah, now that I've been here for a little less than a year, I've noticed everyone has a name that's closer to the ocean, or sound fantastical or something like that. Currently I'm just plain Jamie. I've never been a fan of my name, James, which is why I like to be called Jamie online and by some people in real life. But now I really feel like I should change my name to something else, but I honestly have no idea what. I can only think of a few basic names, and not much else really comes to mind. If you can give me any advice on how to choose, I would appreciate it. Currently, the pool I'm picking out of is only a few basic names, most of which I'm pretty sure are already taken.

Which names are most commonly associated with merfolk? I Googled "(name) the mermaid"/"mermaid (name)" and "(name) the merman" and "merman (name)" to see, with the results about Ethel Merman removed. If you want a really unique mer-name, you might want to avoid these names, or if you want a name that's easily associated with merfolk, these might good picks.

Think back to your favourite stories, that's what I did. They could be from actual history or fiction -- as long as it resonates with you. The classics like Shakespeare, Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones are popular right now. There're plenty of other sources for names, like the Bible, US history and many more I haven't thought of.

Notice it doesn't need to have anything to do with the sea, tho obviously some mers prefer that.

Jim (can I call you that?), the 'pool' of names is big and deep as the ocean. Read as widely as possible, soak in it and one day, sooner than you think, it'll come to you.

It's my star sign, and in one of my favorite anime, Fairy Tail, the celestial spirit Aquarius is actually a mermaid. Her powers are really cool, and it was one of the things that reminded me of the mer community, so I thought doing her and my sign (I was born just around Valentine's Day) justice. I don't know about you guys but Aquarius the Mermaid/Merman sounds pretty cool to me! Just tell me what you think, and be honest! I can always come up with another idea, but this is just a first thought.
