At it again: momo's third partial tail

Hello! I'm feeling the tail making bug once again.

As with all my old threads this tail will be worked on in parts as i acquire and save up funds. Since I've decided not to go to phoenix comicon this year i thought it would go faster but this time but my dad surprised me with tickets for the esence fest so there goes that haha.

Currently i know the fins and flukes will be silicone, but I'm not sure if the body will be silicone or sequin as of yet. I'm also thinking of sculpting the side fins out of clay first and using pour silicone just for thise parts and maybe the fluke.

Alright first piece has been acquired! I butchered my bird of paradise tail and pulled the monofin out of it to re-use. (I'm keeping the fluke to frame but throwing out the body portion)

I will post a video of the butchering on my instagram (missmomo_tan) for those who want to see the cuts. Sadly didn't take any of the way i cut it before discarding the body and putting the rest away.

I learned a valuable lesson today: the quik strip odorless mineral spirits will cause silicone to clump up. Stick with the usual turpentine and mineral spirits

Thanks everyone for keeping up with me!

Now all my tails have had tons of glitter dumped on them because well, I'm a glitter mer at heart lol (my mom actually says i seem more like a mermaid that will live in a crystal cave among shiny things than a tropical one haha) but none of them have been shiny enough to my liking! I want them to sparkle like a gem! [emoji184]

So i just ordered some samples of holographic, iridescent, and chameleon glitters and will test them on a fresh scale swatch.(along with attempting pointed and textured scales).

I'm going to swatch:
1) each glitter alone
2) all of the glitter mixed together

To see what i like best.
