Hello! Just introducing myself! I'm a merman, and right now picked a username for the site of Flukes, but hey, who knows what kind of name I might settle on for work. I've been wanting to do something like professional merman work all my life without knowing something like it existed, so recently found out that it is something you can actually do, and I'm all on board to get myself working toward doing this! I've already been finding the forums and information on this site exciting and full of great resources, and wanted to thank everyone who has put so much work into everything available here; it is wonderful. But I realized I should probably do the Really Scary thing and introduce myself, so here it goes:
I'm 31, seen a few things in my time, and I'm thrilled to have found something to sink my passions into. I've worked as a graphic designer, painter, illustrator, writer and musician, and done some acting in my local community theater, but had to take a break after a mental and physical collapse left me bedridden on and off for several years. Managing to finally get myself into some better working order and got my Dr's approval to get back into a pool and start swimming (he even said he thought it would be good for my health!), so now to just take the plunge! I've always wanted to do performance work as mythological creatures but thought it was just me being crazy and there was no career there, so I never bothered looking into it until I stumbled upon professional mermaids through a freediving school I follow online. I'm glad the world has once more proved to me that living your dreams is a rational and wonderful thing to do. Thanks to all the mermaids and mermen who are such inspirations to me!
So, there you go! Thanks for having me!
