Hi everyone my name is Nate but I’m used to being called Nata so much so it gonna be my mersona name. I don’t own a tail yet but I hope to within the coming year! I’m kinda nervous about my first swim cause I don’t know any local pools that allow it. I’m also afraid of ridicule but water is my temple so I don’t care! I’m moving to Norfolk in a year or two so any mermaids or mermen around there would be nice to know. My end goal is to be a marine biologist by day and merman performer by night:) oh btw current location is near Bristol va so the middle of nowhere
Welcome to the MerNetwork

I do have a question how is dating as a merman like I’m so afraid to tell girls I do this for fun. They are always like it’s girly even though I don’t think that any advice

Haha no worries! I only live in Virginia over the summer since I go to school in Georgia for most of the year. But I do know a ton of other mers that live in Norfolk area. Are you apart of the Chesapeake Pod page on Facebook?

Ah! Welcome! I love the number of mermen that are joining the fun.
Can we blame that uprise of the mermen on me? I'd like to think I'm just that awesome. She right though, I'm glad more of us mermen are shifting the tides of the seas by coming out of our caves.

Just be you. It either they accept you or they don't. There are plenty of fishes in the sea.

Welcome to the waters! I’m in Virginia as well, though fairly far north! It would take me the same time to drive to Bristol as it would to travel back to my hometown of Brick, NJ :P

I'd actually argue that at least 30-40% of the recent newbies are mermen. Its amazing!

Same, man. I’d love to hang out but it’d be quite a bit of a drive.

Welcome to MerNetwork, Nata! All the best getting opportunities to swim; there're several threads that talk about mermen and their acceptance in more detail as well. Hope you find it useful!
