Hello everyone! I'm WhimzSea on here and on instagram!
I'm usually pretty quiet in communities, but something about kicking around in a tail has opened me up more than I ever expected even in such a short time. :) So, hiya! I'm from the Chicago-suburbs and only had a tail for about a month, but its been incredible. My local YMCA has been kind enough to allow me to train there, and its been going well. (Although srsly other-guppies, I highly recommend waiting for your neoprene booties to arrive and not just stuffing the feet in the monofin. Ow, blisters! Weirdly, on the top of my toes and none on my heels... But I am impatient haha.)
As far as my adventures go so far, I fell in love with the idea of wearing a tail after watching Raven of Merbella's training videos with Nicolette. (I hope one day I can order a tail from her!) If you havent seen those, wow, worth the watch. After that, it was down the Mariana Trench for me! There are so many of you I am just floored by, the passion in certain individuals here is contagious!
But since I can only dream of a Merbella tail at the moment, I bought a Sandy Shoal Finfolk and a Shooter monofin to get training. Its been many many years since I was on the swim team as a kid, but the water still feels like home! I'll be playing with clay sculpts and silicone in the coming months, but that progress will be very slow as I work more heavily on other projects ---
Like my day job growing plants inside. :) Thats where the other half of my passion lies, and I'm hoping and working to bring the two together! I have a lot of younger folks who come in with their parents to the store, and getting them passionate about growing their food is so much easier when you can also excite them about the dragon on your shoulder (who keeps the nasty pests away) or the mermaid who grows the plants with some extra help from the fairies..
I have rambled, but I hope you didnt mind :)
I cant wait to move forward with these projects and I cant wait to meet you all!
(PS, anyone attending the MermaidMegafest in MI in May? Im making plans to go, and I cant wait!)
