I wanted to share with you a great way I found to dry the inside of my tail! Previously, I put my tail on a coat rack (with the racks removed) and set it on top of the floor vent. When the heater/air conditioning came on, it went up inside my tail and dryed it out.

When I moved, I no longer had floor vents. So I kept trying to find ways to dry my tails. It seemed like I just couldn't get it completely dry inside.

So here's what I found that works GREAT!

It's a boot dryer. It only heats up a tiny bit, so it might take a day or so to dry, but it works!! I recently used it to dry my latex tail. (I took it for one last swim) I had to take the foot shaped top pieces off, but I was able to put the tail on the boot dryer, and propped it up against the wall, and waited about a day. Totally dry inside!! Yeah!

Another interesting thing about it, it makes absolutely no noise!

Now I'm trying my latex tail, its too heavy to stand up, so I had to lay it down. I hope it still works lying down.

I might have to buy this to finish my tail stand instead of trying to build a similar contraption :)

Oh, yeah! I had plans to make one of those, just bigger. They should work really well.

I didn't work lying down, probably cause the heat couldn't escape. But I got it to stand up, and it is perfectly dry inside! Yea!! :yay:

Yeah, laying on its side the air wouldn't circulate and the evaporated water would have no way to condense out.

That's still one of my favorite tails.

Haha I love how that looks
But that's awesome that it actually works :')
Might have to consider getting one

Ok I am convinced I am now defiantly buying so I need not have to try and construct something that will have the same purpose :D

Wow thanks Sirena! That was actually our big goal. Now, I love my gay brothers, but I myself am not and wanted something pretty badass and tough looking. I think we got it, and my hope is that it shows other straight dudes it's ok. Go swim with your mermaid, have fun!

Lucky I can't even imaging the water being warm enough to swim in for another several months.

Bah humbug some of us are still waking up with frost on our windows -.- Still it's been a strangely warm winter, pretty sure its going to snow in july/june though :P

You are not alone in the cold, Sirena, and I can perfectly understand you. I hate waiting for the few warm days in July/August too. Today it's snowing outside and even swimming in inside pools is somehow always to cold...

Just found this video and didn't know where else to put it, but this looks like a really neat way to store/ show off tails! (though putting wet tails inside your house would be a no no, you could set up something similar in an outside area.)

Rack is at 0:43 behind her.

I posted this in another thread, but I'll cross post ;)

I now have a place to hang my tail and I got the idea from Kariel's video. Here's a screen shot of an up close look at Kariel's stands for those who are curious-

You can see she used hooks that are usually used for decorative purposes outside, but it gives it a much fancier feel.

Me, I just went for the cheapest thing at Home Depot :P

20566

Handy hooks $2.94 each
Pipe insulation(found in plumbing section): $2.47
Dry wall tripple grip screws: $6.98

Result-

(Sorry for the crappy lighting.) Simple yet effective :)

The garage would be a good place if you can install some sun lights and warm air cupboards like the type you find in a hospital.

Isn't there a lot of dust when you hang them up exposed like that?

Very cool! Have I told you I LOVE the new scale pattern? It is GORGEOUS. I loooove scales that have a pointed look.
