Do any of you merfolk have experience swimming at local state parks ? Where there any conflicts in designated swimming areas? Have you been to one that did not have a designated swimming area? What was your experience?

I’m asking as a landlocked mermaid craving the fresh water and trying to avoid swimming in chlorine. I am surrounded by tons of state parks but I’m not sure if there are certain precautions to take before diving right in.

Currently located in the Harrisburg Pennsylvania area!

I have swum at Malibu state park, in Rock Pool. There was no issue, but there was also no state ranger there to stop me. My guess is it will vary by park, and by which park official you ask, even for the same swimming area.

Many times, its easier to ask forgiveness than permission. Just go for it, and be willing to accept that you may be asked to take the tail off.
