Unidentified Floating Object- a Cool Mer Home?

So Jet Capsule S.r.l. is a company in Naples, Italy, that makes shallow draft water jet-powered boats for recreational and water taxi use:

and they've come up with a concept for a water home called the Unidentified Floating Object.

This would be such a great place to spend your holiday, lounging in your tail whilst combing your hair, then flopping straight into the water when you get the urge, and sleeping underwater with a view of your fish friends . . .

Well, if they get it funded. They say they're planning a Kickstarter soon. Hope they're successful.

Huh, sounds and looks nice. My mind immediately wonders what sort of weather can it withstand, how environmentally friendly it is (fuel source? renewable?) and what the life expectancy is. We have a floating restaurant here called the McBarge which I think was just sold, the old thing has been around since 1986 but it's in desperate need of some TLC. Seeing how well it's held up though gives me hope for floating homes.

Expect to see more and more concepts for living on the water, seeing as all landmasses are basically overcrowded and they still don't manage population control, so water homes are next, and next they will have to shoot people into space.
Probably more for rich people than for the masses, though.

Personally, I like the concept, but I'd prefer it to look more natural and less sci-fi.
Like, have the saucer look like a really small island or ocean rock, and the interior more aquatic and reef-like rather than a spaceship.

I think the saucer shape is more for balance than anything. I used a similar design for my mobile coral reef reclamation project (basically a giant buoy with metal grating submerged) . The design allows the most amount of space and helps against tidal currents. I agree that it's a bit unusual, not hard to dress the overall design up and keep the basic shape so that it looks more natural.

I didn't mean the shape, but the colours.
Instead of this techy-device look, natural colours emulating a rock or (tiny) grassy island.
Just so it blends with nature instead of screaming "human high-tech".
